Rachael Matthews - The Voice of The Company
After growing up with health and social care in my blood I decided to follow the career path, starting off working evenings and weekends as a care assistant part-time whilst being a mummy during the day, as my son got older I worked full time and eventually became a field care supervisor and completed my NVQ level 3, assisted with the induction of new carers, rotas, assessments of new packages, care planning, supervisions, spot checks and everything else that comes with assisting my area manager to run an 800+ hour a week service.
After several years and a location change I decided to take a break from the care sector, however, this was something that didn't last and I soon found myself working nights in a Nursing home which was very different to domiciliary care but still meant I was back where 'i belonged' and also helped me to carry on working following the birth of my daughter.
Unfortunately, a few years later my own health put a stop to my care career and I am currently studying my AAT level 3 in accountancy but my heart will always be in care.
I began doing odd bits and bobs for prepare2care just to help my parents and to feel involved in care, now I enjoy knowing that we as a family are out there making a difference to the companies and the carers that may one day be looking after someone in my family or myself hopefully with our morals and beliefs passed down the line through our training.
Kydun Matthews - The Marketeer of The Company
I am currently in my final year in secondary school, I have never directly been involved in health and social care but have grown up around it.
As soon as I turned 16 years old I got myself a part-time job as a waiter in a local Italian restaurant and also begun helping my family market and advertise Prepare2Care Ltd. I felt I could help lift the company back to what it was due to being incredibly business-minded
So far I have thoroughly enjoyed finding out new ways to reach out to people via advertising and looking at how different types of marketing can lead to more interest and I am keen to keep going with this route to not only help our family-run business but to also give myself life experience ready for when I begin to create my own career path.
